• All information provided by tutors to Thames Education through any means must be correct and up-to-date. All information given by tutors are the property of Thames Education and may be used for purposes of tutor matching and class assignments.
• Tutors must produce their original certificates to Thames Education, our partners or parents when required to do so.
• Tutors shall not represent Thames Education in any capacity unless they have been appointed by us in writing.
• Thames Education reserves the right to remove any tutor from its database at its own discretion.
• The terms and conditions stated here are subject to changes. Tutors are to revisit the terms and conditions from time to time. should they disagree with any new terms and conditions, they can de-register themselves by informing us in writing.
• The tutor is to behave and conduct himself/herself and to manage the students and the tuition as detailed in the document ‘Information for Tutors '. Note that some information may not be applicable for Home Tuition Assignments.
• The tutor agrees to provide reasons or account for his/her actions during the class.
• Tutors will be matched to students who require home tuition depending on the requirements of the students and the tutor's availability.
• For every assignment that the tutor accepts, Thames Education will be entitled to the first 50% of the agreed first month's tuition fees.
• The next 50% of the first month fees and the full month fees for the subsequent months will be paid directly to the tutor by the student or his/her parents/guardian.
• Tutors are not to collect the fees due to Thames Education on our behalf unless requested to do so in writing by us.
• Tutors are to communicate with the students or their parents/guardians on the schedule and duration of the assignments.
• They are also expected to communicate directly with the parents should they need to terminate the assignment earlier than agreed.
• Thames Education will not be responsible for any resolution of conflict between the tutor and the students or their parents/guardians.
• Tutors will be paid an hourly fee depending on his/her qualifications. The tutor can query on his/her rates after submitting his/her registration form. The fee is fixed, regardless of the number of students that has been assigned to the tutor's class.
• The fees will be paid by the 20th of the following month and upon the successful completion of the required reports on the students' attendance and performance, and other administrative requirements. Should there be any delays in the payment of the fees, the tutors will be informed in advance.
• The fees will be paid by direct transfer to the tutor's bank account. To this end, all tutors need to provide the management with their relevant bank details (Bank name, Branch No and Account No).
• The duration of the service will depend on duration of the classes and on when the tutor begins his/her service.
• The tutor is expected to be committed for the full duration of the contract. To this end, the tutor will be required to pay a deposit equivalent to six (6) times his/her hourly rate, which shall be taken from his/her first few tuition fees. The purpose of the deposit is to act as a guarantee for the tutor's commitment to the full duration of the programme. Upon completion of the tuition programme, the deposit will be returned to the tutors. Should the tutor decide to quit the programme at any point before its scheduled end, the management reserves the right to forfeit the deposit, even if the tutor had given a one month's notice. The management may, at its own discretion, decide to return the deposit to the tutor on a case-to-case basis.
Termination of contract
• If the tutor decides to discontinue with the programme, he/she is to give the management at least a month's notice, failing which the management reserves the right to forfeit whatever unpaid fees at that point in time.
• In addition, as mentioned above the deposit will also be forfeited. The tutor is free to appeal for the return of his/her deposit. The management will then make a decision, which shall be final and which shall not be further questioned.
• The management also reserves the right to terminate the contract of the tutor by giving a 1 week's notice if the tutor's performance or conduct is not up to expectations. Any outstanding tutor's fees and the deposit will be returned to the tutor at the end of the contract.
